Addiction is often a response to unresolved trauma, yet traditional addiction treatment models frequently overlook its deep-rooted connection to attachment wounds and developmental trauma. • Reframe addiction through the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model and EMDR research

  • Develop addiction-specific treatment plans that balance trauma and addiction recovery

  • Utilize Phase 1 history-taking strategies to assess core memories, triggers, and blocking beliefs

  • Apply Phase 2 resourcing techniques to stabilize clients using polyvagal-informed strategies

  • Integrate EMDR techniques to target cravings, urges, and maladaptively stored positive material

  • Navigate Phase 8 reevaluation challenges and relapse fears

  • Use the Future Prong to help clients visualize and rehearse long-term recovery

Through didactic instruction, case studies, and demonstration videos, you’ll gain practical, applicable tools to confidently support clients struggling with addiction.
