EMDR Training for Addictions

Addiction is often a response to unresolved trauma, yet traditional addiction treatment models frequently overlook its deep-rooted connection to attachment wounds and developmental trauma. This course offers a trauma-informed framework integrating the eight phases of EMDR Therapy to help EMDR therapists move beyond symptom management and into lasting change. Through didactic instruction, case studies, and demonstration videos, participants will gain practical tools to effectively address addiction through EMDR Therapy with compassion and respect.
What You’ll Learn:
Reframe addiction through the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model and EMDR research
Develop addiction-specific treatment plans that balance trauma and addiction recovery
Utilize Phase 1 history-taking strategies to assess core memories, triggers, and blocking beliefs
Apply Phase 2 resourcing techniques to stabilize clients using polyvagal-informed strategies
Integrate EMDR techniques to target cravings, urges, and maladaptively stored positive material
Navigate Phase 8 reevaluation challenges and relapse fears
Use the Future Prong to help clients visualize and rehearse long-term recovery
Through didactic instruction, case studies, and demonstration videos, you’ll gain practical, applicable tools to confidently support clients struggling with addiction.

Ego States Training

This live webinar teaches the Theory of Structural Dissociation and Ego States therapy to prepare clients with C-PTSD and dissociative disorders for EMDR reprocessing. Participants will learn to assess dissociative symptoms, use the Dissociative Table Technique to identify parts of self, and integrate ego states into the eight phases of EMDR.
